Es können 2 Pflicht-Leistungspunkte, bzw. 3 ECTS-Punkte im Fach Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre (Modul V, ABWL) erworben werden.
The course "Competition & Strategy" focuses on an applied analysis of competition. Important concepts from industrial organization, game theory, product life-cycle analysis and industry evolution are presented and discussed. Additionally, important characteristics of network industries such as network effects and standard setting are considered. The concept of competition used in this course is interpreted broadly and also encompasses the analysis of strategic cooperation between firms. The course will be taught in English.
Die Vorlesung "Competition & Strategy" beinhaltet eine anwendungsorientierte Analyse der Interaktion konkurrierender Unternehmen. Dabei werden grundlegende Konzepte aus der Industrieökonomik, der Spieltheorie sowie aus Theorien des Produktlebenszyklus und der Evolution von Industrien vorgestellt und diskutiert. Darüber hinaus werden Netzwerkeffekte und die Durchsetzung von Standards betrachtet. Neben den verschiedenen Formen des Wettbewerbs werden auch die Möglichkeiten einer strategischen Kooperation zwischen Unternehmen diskutiert. Die Veranstaltung wird in englischer Sprache gelesen.
